The purpose of this letter is to inform Home and Community-based Services (HCS) program providers and Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authorities (LIDDAs) the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is increasing the service limit for dental treatment in the (HCS) program. Effective September 1, 2015, the service limit for dental treatment will increase from $1,000 during an individual plan of care (IPC) year to $2,000 during an IPC year. HCS program rules will be amended or updated to include this change. Dental treatment must be a billable service listed in Section 6330 of the HCS Program Billing Guidelines. HCS program providers may submit IPC revisions to increase dental treatment up to $2,000 for individuals in need of additional funds following procedures as described in Section 6000 of the HCS Handbook.
