Department of Aging and Disability Services Home and Community-based Services and Texas Home Living Behavioral Support Service Provider Policy Training
DADS’ letter announced the release of the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) Home and Community-based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TxHmL) Behavioral Support Service Provider Policy Training and to inform program providers of the deadline by which service providers of behavioral supports must complete the DADS approved training.
DADS released its Behavioral Support Service Provider Policy Training, via a web-based training (WBT) on February 9, 2015. The WBT will be available on the DADS website at http://www.dads.state.tx.us/business/CBT/index.html.
To be in compliance with the HCS and TxHmL1915(c) waivers, program providers must ensure a service provider of behavioral supports is certified or licensed in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Title 40, Part 1, Chapter 9, §9.177 for HCS and §9.579 for TxHmL. In addition, program providers must also ensure a service provider of behavioral supports completes this WBT prior to and during provision of services.
HCS and TxHmL program providers must ensure all service providers of behavioral supports complete the DADS approved training by June 1, 2015. A record of completion will be provided upon conclusion of the training and is valid for three years. Program providers must retain a copy of the record of completion on file and be prepared to provide a copy to DADS upon request. Failure to provide this information could result in noncompliance with DADS rules, §9.177(a) and §9.579 (a).
