New Billing Codes

The purpose of this letter is to notify nursing facility providers of the new billing codes for durable medical equipment (DME) reimbursed through the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) program. Effective February 1, 2015, all PASRR DME approved by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) on or after February 1, 2015, must be billed using the billing codes below.

PASRR DME approved by DADS before February 1, 2015, must be billed using the current billing codes. To ensure the claim for services is not denied for an incorrect code by the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), nursing facility providers should review all codes on the resident’s Medicaid Eligibility and Service Authorization Verification (MESAV) before billing.
