The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) has recently made some changes to improve several areas of the site, including navigation, layout and design.
Some of the new features include:
Global (sitewide) navigation for improved access to information
Increase number of links on the home page
Easy access to the DADS homepage and contact information from all pages
Homepage banners to communicate important events and information
Improved color palate using warmer and calming colors
Links to DADS Facebook and YouTube sites
What’s Next
“Websites should not be stagnant. They need to evolve as our users’ needs change,” said DADS Communications Manager Jeff Peck. “Finding information is step one. Understanding it and taking an action require we use clear communication methods that appeal to visitors of all kinds of backgrounds from PhDs to folks who struggle with large blocks of wordy text. Our next task is to review and rewrite content as necessary using techniques that work with left-brain and right-brain thinkers in niche and general audiences.”
