HSC and Local Authorities:
DADS informed these providers and local authorities of changes DADS made related to service planning, which are reflected in the amended sections of the HCS Handbook: Section 4000 (Person Directed Planning Process) and Section 7000 (Implementation Plan and Backup Plan). (Letter)

DADS informed these providers and local authorities of new service backup plan requirements, effective September 3, 2013. An excerpt:
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) to ensure that individuals receiving waiver services while living in their own residences or in foster/companion care settings have a service backup plan for each waiver service determined to be critical to meet the needs to ensure the individual’s health and safety.
NF and Hospice:
HHSC approved new per diem payment rates in the NF program, the Hospice program in NFs, and Swing Bed program. (Letter)
