DADS published this notice of an emergency waiver and consulting contract award. McKesson Health Solutions is the consultant contracted to provide an assessment of the functionality of an electronic health record system currently in use by DADS SSLCs. See the Texas Register for details.
HHSC intends to submit Transmittal Number 13-025 to the Texas State Plan for Medical Assistance to allow Texas Medicaid to pay cost sharing for ambulance transports at the amount of the Medicare allowable rate minus the Medicare payment amount.
HHSC also intends to submit Transmittal Number 13-024 to add provisionally licensed psychologists as another type of provider who can perform psychological counseling and services under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist. For more information about each entry, see the Texas Register.
Proposed Rules
The Texas Board of Nursing proposed amendments to §211.7, Executive Director, which are intended to provide relief to individuals who wish to enter into agreed orders to resolve contested cases matters by authorizing the Executive Director to accept these agreed orders without board ratification.
The board proposed to amend §213.3, Pleading, which would implement the provisions of SB 1058, enacted by the 83rd Texas Legislature, Regular Session, and clarify the board’s existing procedural requirements relating to licensure and eligibility matters.
Finally, the board proposed to amend §216.3, Requirements, which would require advanced practice registered nurses who prescribe controlled substances to complete an additional 3 hours of continuing education related to prescribing controlled substances each biennium.
