DADS informs providers that when billing for non-Medicare covered services, they’re not required to file a claim to determine the liability of a Medicare Supplemental Insurance policy. (Letter)

DADS recently contracted with contract with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. An excerpt:
As part of the expansion of Utilization Management and Review (UMR), the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) recently entered into a contract with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). In accordance with the terms ofthe contract, UTHSCSA provides a Texas licensed dentist who reviews Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) Individual Plan of Care (IPC) proposals including dental services as outlined in this letter. A similar contractual agreement has allowed the Community Based Alternative (CBA) Program to conduct utilization review on dental services since September 1, 2010.
HCSSA:
DADS provided a summary of revisions to TAC, Title 40, Part 1, Chapter 97, HCSSA. TheĀ revisions require that a HCSSA report certain changes of information given on an initial or renewal application after the license is issued. (Letter)

DADS notified these providers that an asbestos survey may be required before conducting renovations that pose a potential risk of exposure to residents, staff, or visitors. (Letter)
