DADS clarified that respite can occur in places other than the individual’s residence. An excerpt:
Respite provided in these settings should not be confused with out-of-home respite which is provided in the following licensed and/or contracted settings:
• special care facilities
• licensed day care facilities
• hospitals
• nursing facilities
• camps accredited by the American Camping Association
• foster families approved by a Department of Family and Protective Services child placing agency

DADS issued the letter to provide early information about planning for the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), which will replace ICD-9-CM codes used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures through HIPAA. (Letter)

This year, CMS launched the Partnership to Improve Dementia Care in nursing facilities and asks stakeholders to send letters to support the partnership and share them with other facilities. (Letter)
