Public Notice
HHSC announced the renewal of a contract with Software Contract Solutions, Inc. to provide a resource for investigating all facets of information technology software issues that impact price, cost savings measures, risk exposure, and overall total cost of ownership. The renewal’s value will not exceed $950,000. See the Texas Register for more information.
Adopted Rules
The Texas Medical Board proposed to adopt rules to several sections of the code:
Graduate Training Permits – The amendment to §171.6, Duties of Program Directors to Report, provides that a postgraduate training program director doesn’t have to report to the board if the participant is on military or family leave unrelated to his medical condition.
Texas Physician Health Program And Rehabilitation Orders – The amendment to §180.4, Operation of Program, provides that all or part of the annual fee may be waived by the governing board and establishes procedures for medical director’s advice requests from a case review panel.
Disciplinary Guidelines – The amendments to §190.8, Violation Guidelines, and §190.14, Disciplinary Sanction Guidelines, require a physician who performs autopsies to obtain informed consent from a patient’s authorized representatives and the board to revoke a physician’s license if placed on deferred adjudication, community supervision for an offense related to the sexual or aggravated assault of a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child, or indecency with a child.

The Texas Medical Board adopted the review of Chapter 171, Postgraduate Training Permits, §§171.1 – 171.6; Chapter 180, Texas Physician Health Program and Rehabilitation Orders, §§180.1 – 180.4 and 180.7; and Chapter 190, Disciplinary Guidelines, §§190.1, 190.2, 190.8 and 190.14 – 190.16.
