Public Hearings and Notice
HHSC will hold a public hearing on November 16, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., to receive comment on proposed Medicaid payment rates for Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System updates, Medicaid Biennial Calendar Fee Review, Medicaid Policy Reviews, and Medicaid Special Reviews. The hearing will take place in HHSC’s Lone Star Conference Room. See the Texas Register for details.
HHSC will hold a public hearing to receive comments on proposed amendments to Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 354, Subchapter A, Division 3, §354.1041, Benefits for Medicare/Medicaid Recipients; and Division 11, §354.1143, Coordination of Medicaid with Medicare Parts A, B, and C and §354.1149, Exclusions and Limitations. However, the Texas Register doesn’t list the date and time of the hearing. - On DADS’ Behalf
HHSC proposed to amend §95.101, §95.103, §95.105, §95.107, §95.109, §95.113, §95.115, §95.117, §95.119, §95.123, §95.125, and §95.127 in Chapter 95, Medication Aides–Program Requirements. An excerpt:
The purpose of the amendments is to implement portions of Senate Bill (SB) 1, 82nd Legislature, First Called Session, 2011. SB 1 added Texas Human Resources Code, §161.083 to require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to establish: 1) minimum requirements for the issuance, denial, renewal, suspension, and revocation of a permit for a corrections medication aide; 2) the acts and practices that are within the scope of a corrections medication aide permit; and 3) minimum standards and procedures for the approval of corrections medication aide training programs developed under Texas Government Code, §501.1485, which was also added by SB1.

The Texas Board of Nursing intends to review and consider for re-adoption, re-adoption with amendments, or the repeal the following:
Chapter 220, Nurse Licensure Compact, §§220.1 – 220.4.
Chapter 224, Delegation of Nursing Tasks by Registered Professional Nurses to Unlicensed Personnel for Clients with Acute Conditions or in Acute Care Environments, §§224.1 – 224.11.
Chapter 225, RN Delegation to Unlicensed Personnel and Tasks Not Requiring Delegation in Independent Living Environments for Clients with Stable and Predictable Conditions, §§225.1 – 225.14.
