DADS released four information letters:
ALL LTC providers:
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 expires on June 30, 2011, and providers are encouraged to bill as often as necessary to maximize the amount of funds Texas can claim (Letter):
— Claims processed through TMHP: received no later than noon Monday, June 27, 2011.
— Claims processed through CARE: submitted to be received  later than noon Friday, June 24, 2011.
Medicaid hospice:
DADS informed these providers that effective, July 1, 2011, DADS will require physicians who certify Texas Medicaid hospice patients as being terminally ill to include a brief narrative of the clinical findings that support a life expectancy of six months or fewer. (Letter)
Title XIX and Title XX HDM providers:
DADS has posted budget-based rate negotiation documents and instructions on the HDM provider page. (Letter)
CBA, CWP, CDSA, DAHS, MDCP, and PHC providers:
Licensed physicians currently practicing in VA hospitals and military facilities can sign orders for community services even when they do not have a Texas license, including signatures on the following forms: PHC Form 3052 Practitioner’s Statement; DAHS Form 3055, Physician’s Order; CBA, CWP, and MDCP, MN/LOC Assessment; MDCP Form 2428, Physician’s Orders for Licensed Nursing Services; and any other documentation requiring a physician.
