Public Hearing and Notice
HHSC will hold a public hearing on February 15, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., to receive comments on proposed Medicaid payment rates for Substance Use Disorder – Medication Assisted Therapy for Methadone. The hearing will take place in the Lone Star Conference Room of HHSC, Braker Center, Building H, located at 11209 Metric Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
HHSC intends to submit an amendment to the Texas State Plan for Medical Assistance to modify the reimbursement methodologies as a result of Medicaid fee changes for Physicians and Certain Other Practitioners specifically addressing Substance Use Disorder – Medication Assisted Therapy for Methadone.

Proposed Rules
HHSC proposes to add new §355.8445, Reimbursement for Environmental Lead Investigations, which would add a new Medicaid benefit for environmental lead investigations for clients under 21. For more information, see the Texas Register.
The Board of Nursing proposed to amend §217.4 (relating to Requirements for Initial Licensure by Examination for Nurses Who Graduate from Nursing Education Programs Outside of United States’ Jurisdiction), which would reflect an exception that exempts international nurse applicants from the requirement to take an English proficiency test if they completed a program substantially conducted in English.
