DADS informed NFs about updated procedures related to joint investigations with law enforcement of abuse, and neglect complaints and incidents. DADS Regulatory Services must notify and cooperate with local law enforcement agencies in joint investigations of abuse and neglect allegations described in HSC §242.126(c)(1). (Letter)

DADS informed Community Services Waiver providers about enhancements to the LTC Online Portal, effective May 21. An excerpt:
Enhancement #1. Medical Necessity and Level of Care (MN and LOC) Significant Change in Status Assessment
MNLOC Significant Changes in Status Assessment (SCSA) AA8a=3 will no longer be accepted by the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) LTC Online Portal if there is no record in the LTC Online Portal of a previously approved Medical Necessity (MN) determination for either an MN and LOC Assessment or a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Assessment for the individual within the last 365 days. The following error message will be displayed:
“The SCSA cannot be accepted. No previous MN on file for client within past 365 days. Please submit Initial or Annual assessment.”
NFs and Hospice providers:
DADS informed these providers about enhancements to the LTC Online Portal, effective May 21. An excerpt:
Enhancement #1. Applied Income (AI) checks
An Applied Income (AI) check will be performed on all Form 3619 Medicare/SNF Patient Transaction Notices (Admissions, Discharges and Deceased) submitted on the LTC Online Portal. While in the AI check process, the form will be set to the status “Pending Applied Income.” The form will remain in status “Pending Applied Income” until AI is confirmed or for six months from the time the form enters the Medicaid ID check process, whichever comes first.If AI is NOT confirmed within six months from the time the form enters the Medicaid ID check process, it will be set to the status “AI Check Inactive.” Providers will have the option to reactivate a form in the “AI Check Inactive” status by clicking on the ‘Reactivate Form’ button at which time the form will restart the AI check process.
