DADS released two information letters:
CBA and HCSSAs, ICM, CWP, DBMD, PHC, and SRO providers:
DADS informed these providers that a review showed some of them were billed incorrectly during periods of time when Medicaid Long Term Care consumers were in a hospital or institution. Providers are asked to contact their regional contract managers for more information. (Letter)
HCS:
DADS explained the procedures it will take in offering individuals the option to transfer from an HCS program provider when DADS intends to involuntarily terminate the provider’s HCS contract. An excerpt of the letter:
“Shortly after DADS sends a letter to an HCS program provider that termination of the provider’s HCS contract has been initiated, DADS informs the mental retardation authority (MRA) responsible for the local service area in which the provider serves the individuals. DADS instructs the MRA to advise each individual or legally authorized representative (LAR) of DADS’ intent to terminate the HCS contract and the individual’s option to transfer to a different HCS program provider. The MRA will give the individual or LAR information from DADS that explains the intended contract termination and the individual’s option to transfer.”
