According to the code, the examining physician determines the severity of injuries in ICF/MR facilities. In a provider letter, DADS informed ICFs/MR that an examining PA and APN may also determine severity of injuries if delegated by an examining physician. Download the letter here.
DADS is removing the cost limitation for Augmentative Communication Devices (ACDs) for residents in the DADS ICF/MR program. These providers may request an ACD for a Medicaid-eligible resident in the ICF/MR program and receive reimbursement for the cost of the ACD system above the previous limit of $5000, effective August 1, 2009. DADS reminded HCS and TxHmL program providers and MRAs about upcoming HCS and TxHmL Waiver Data Entry training sessions. The remaining training dates are: September 23rd and 24th; October 28th and 29th; November 18th and 19th; and December 16th and 17th.
