Public Hearing
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will hold a public hearing on July 24, 2009, at 1 p.m. to receive public comment on proposed rates for Professional Services in Home and Community-Based Services waivers. The hearing will take place in the Lone Star Conference Room of the Health and Human Services Commission, Braker Center, Building H, located at 11209 Metric Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Proposed Rules
The Texas Medical Board proposes to amend Chapter 163, §163.4, concerning Procedural Rules for Licensure Applicants, which would provide limited conditions under which licensure applications and registrations will be extended.
The Board also proposes to amend Chapter 175, §175.1, concerning Application Fees, §175.2, concerning Registration and Renewal Fees and §175.5, concerning Payment of Fees or Penalties, to increase certain application and registration renewal fees to cover the agency’s costs of all mandates adopted by the 81st legislature, establish a charge for the review of continuing acupuncture education courses on a per course basis, and provide limited conditions for when an applicant or licensee may obtain a refund of application or registration fees.
Finally, the Board proposes to amend Chapter 183, §183.14, concerning Acudetox Specialists, which would establish that application and renewal fees for acudetox specialists are provided under §175.1 and §175.2 of this title.

Adopted Rules
HHSC adopted the repeal of Subchapter OO, consisting of §§79.4001 – 79.4006, concerning guardianships, in Chapter 79, Legal Services, which would eliminate rules governing guardianships in the Aid to Families with Dependent Children Program. The program is now administered by HHSC, and DADS no longer needs these rules. See the relevant section for details.
