The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) released two provider and four information letters:
- Swine Influenza Guidance
DADS provided all Adult Day Care Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities (AL), Home and Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA), Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Mental Retardation or Related Conditions (ICF/MR), Nursing Facilities, Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) Providers, Texas Home Living (TxHmL) Providers and Mental Retardation Authorities (MRA) with information about the swine flu at this web page. - Pre-licensure Training Available Through the DADS Internet Site
DADS sent a letter to ALs to inform them of the requirement of an applicant for an initial license to complete a pre-licensure training course, provided by DADS, before submitting an application. The course will be available online May 1, 2009. Download the letter here.
- Change in the Timeframe for Mental Retardation/Related Condition (MR/RC) Assessment, Purpose Code 3 Data Entry into the Client Assignment and Registration (CARE) System
DADS notified HCS providers, ICF/MR providers, TxHmL providers, and MRAs of a change to the time for the data entry of an MR/RC, Purpose Code 3 in the CARE system from 45 days to 60 days, effective May 1, 2009. Download the three-page letter for more information.
- Revised Form 3671-C, Nursing Service Plan, to Document AL Services – Personal Care 3 (PC 3) Setting Eligibility
DADS informed Community Based Alternatives (CBA), HCSSAs, and Assisted Living/Residential Care providers that DADS has modified Form 3671-C, Nursing Service Plan. Specifically, DADS has revised Section V.2 of the form to enable HCSSA nurse assessors to recommend nursing services in relation to the CBA consumer’s potential eligibility for assisted living services in a PC 3 setting. - Clarification of Provider Responsibilities When Managing and Individual’s Personal Funds
