The following information was obtained from the September 5 issue of the Texas Register:
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced its intent to submit an amendment to the Texas State Plan for Medical Assistance, under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, which will revise the reimbursement methodology for Medicaid Hospice room and board when the recipient resides in a nursing facility. The changes also involve replacing references to the TILE case mix classification with the RUG classification.
HHSC intends to submit Transmittal Number 08-014, Amendment Number 818, to the Texas State Plan for Medical Assistance, under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, which would modify current language excluding Census Bureau wages for temporary employment related to census activities from the income used to determine Medicaid eligibility.
For copies of these amendments and/or information on where to send comments, see the entries for both sections at this link.
