The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) has released two information letters:
- Office of Inspector General Review of Medical and Therapeutic Supplies
DADS informed Community Based Alternatives, Home and Community Support Services Agencies, Primary Home Care Program Providers, Consolidated Waiver Program Providers, Medically Dependent Children Program Providers, Community Living Assistance and Support Services Providers, and Integrated Care Management 1915(c) Waiver Providers about the results of a review by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General.
The review revealed that Medicare and Medicaid may have paid for the same medical supply or service for the same individual in many cases. Download the letter to find how to avoid making these duplicate payments.
- HCS Billing Guidelines Provider Training 2008
DADS informed Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) Program Providers that it will conduct training on the HCS Program Billing Guidelines in two one-day sessions scheduled for next month.
The sessions will be held on August 4, at the Crowne Plaza Suites, 7800 Alpha Road, Dallas, Texas, and on August 18, at the Hilton Houston Southwest, 6780 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Texas. Register online at the training web site, and download the two-page letter for more information.
