Open Meetings and Notices
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has issued correction notices about proposed Medicaid payment rates for certain procedures associated with the 2008 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System. The notices contained an incorrect phone number, procedure code description, and HCPCS description. Click on the link for more information.
The Texas Board of Nursing approved a Pilot Disciplinary Matrix in its quarterly board meeting on April 18, 2008. See the relevant section of the Texas Register for details.
Proposed Rules
The Texas Medical Board has proposed to amend §161.6, Committees of the Board, and §161.8, Deputy Executive Director. The amendments would update the duties of the Licensure Committee and the name of the Deputy Executive Director to Chief of Staff. The Board also proposes to amend other sections of the code, including Physician Registration and Postgraduate Training Permits. The Texas Board of Nursing has proposed to amend 22 Texas Administrative Code §§213.27, 213.28, 213.29, 213.30, and 213.33, relating to Practice and Procedure, which would add language to the foregoing rules regarding the Board’s Disciplinary Sanction Policies and its Disciplinary Guidelines for Criminal Conduct. Adopted Rules
The Texas Medical Board has adopted amendments to several sections of the rules, including Supervision of Medical School Students and Physician Advertising. See each entry for more information.
Additionally, the Board proposes to review Chapter 161, General Provisions, §§161.1 – 161.13, pursuant to the Texas Government Code, §2001.039.
