In a letter to Home and Community Support Services Agencies, Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) Staff, and All Other Stakeholders dated June 1, DADS announced that it is hosting half-day training sessions on “Meeting Complex Needs in Waiver Programs Registration Information.â€
The sessions will answer questions about licensing rules and contract requirements for accepting complex needs patients in the following 1915(c) Medicaid waiver programs: Consolidated Waiver Program, Community Based Alternatives, Deaf-Blind with Multiple Disabilities, and Community Living Assistance and Support Services. In another provider letter, dated June 1, DADS informed hospice agencies seeking Medicare certification of an announcement by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) about scheduling certification surveys. From the letter:
CMS has directed DADS to immediately cease scheduling initial Medicare certification surveys of hospices. Presently, DADS cannot anticipate when it will resume scheduling these surveys. For related information regarding this CMS directive, please refer to the attached “Question and Answer†document.
