DADS news alerts:
1. HHSC proposed to amend §§19.1001, 19.1002, 19.1510, and 19.1601 concerning nursing services, additional nursing services staffing requirements, emergency medication kits, and infection control, in Chapter 19, Nursing Facility Requirements for Licensure and Medicaid Certification.
The changes to §19.1001 and §19.1002 would make the rule consistent with the federal requirements for posting nurse staff information. The amendments to §19.1601 would reorganize, clarify, and update the rule to reflect current CDC guidelines. The amendment to §19.1510 would update a reference to Texas Board of Pharmacy rules. 2. The “MDS Provider” and “MDS QI/QM Report” categories will be removed from the CASPER Reporting application, effective June 8, 2011.
3. CMS posted the updated MDS 3.0 RAI Manual on the web site.
4. DADS informed everyone with QIES access to submit MDS data or view CASPER reports that they should update their QIES account.
5. DADS and HHSC will hold a series of free town hall meetings across the state to provide an opportunity for individuals, family members, service providers and the general public to learn more about the CDS option. Follow this link for details.
6. DADS will hold meetings for Region 2, 9, and 10 Assisted Living Facilities providers on June 23, 2011, at the El Paso Police Department, West Side Regional Command Center; 4801 Osborne Dr. 79922.
