On February 21, DADS informed nursing facility administrators that its Quality Assurance and Improvement unit will conduct an annual Nursing Facility Quality Review (formerly called the Long Term Care Quality Review) evaluations of resident care in nursing facilities, as mandated by the Texas Legislature.
Registered nurses with the NACES Plus Foundation, Inc. (NACES.org), a DADS contractor, will conduct the evaluations, and they’ll need access to residents and records. To verify that a reviewer RN is with NACES, contact Kris Winning, MSN, RN, Project Manager, (512) 467-0615 ext. 152. For more information, download the letter here.
