— CMS staff clarification of a Medicare Part A stay — When such a resident is discharged:
[T]he Assessment Reference Date (ARD) of a scheduled Medicare Prospective Payment System (PPS) assessment may be adjusted to the day the resident is discharged only when the ARD for the scheduled PPS assessment was set prior to the day of discharge. From page A-26 of the MDS 3.0 RAI Manual ” When the resident dies or is discharged prior to the end of the look-back period for a required assessment, the ARD must be adjusted to equal the discharge date.”
— HHSC proposed to repeal §90.16, concerning change of ownership; new §90.16, concerning change of ownership; and amendment to §90.61, concerning introduction, application, and general requirements for ICF/ID.
— DADS invited Region 1 NF providers to attend a meeting to address Quality Coding OBRA and Quality Coding Medicare PPS assessments; Quality Control: The MDS Process and Correcting Errors; and Quality Measures: CASPER, Nursing Home Compare, and Texas Quality Reporting System.
