TX Register Updates: 2/13 Rate Hearing, ICF/IID Changes
The following information was obtained from the February 13 issue of the Texas Register.
Public Hearing and Notice
HHSC will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. to receive comment on proposed Medicaid payment rates for 3rd Quarter 2012 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System Update for physician-administered drugs; annual Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System update; aerosol treatments; Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment therapeutic dental services; evoked response tests and neuromuscular procedures; Medicaid Biennial Calendar Fee Review; neurostimulators; Provisionally Licensed Psychologists; telemedicine and telehealth services; and vaccines and toxoids.
The hearing will take place in the Lone Star Conference Room. See the Texas Register for more information.
HHSC intends to submit an amendment to the Texas State Plan for Medical Assistance, which would update the fee schedules in the current state plan by including fees for new services and by modifying fees for existing services. See the Texas Register for more information.
- On DADS’ Behalf
HHSC proposed to amend §90.3, Definitions; and §90.42, Standards for Facilities Serving ICF/IID, in Chapter 90, ICF/IID, which would increase medical professional service options for ICF/IID, as allowed by current federal regulations, which state at 42 Code of Federal Regulations, §483.460(a)(4), that “to the extent permitted by state law, the facility may utilize physician assistants and nurse practitioners to provide physician services as described in this section.” For details, see the Texas Register.
