DADS has posted several news alerts on its provider’s page.

  • DADS will hold an employment services webinar on January 7, 2009, a third in a series of webinars on employment for adults with developmental disabilities. Download the flyer for more information.
  • DADS has revised the CDSA choice lists to allow CDSA searches by county. See this web page for more information.
  • In response to questions about HCS revised 2009 billing guidelines, DADS provided answers, which can be found on this web page. For more information, you may contact Misti J. Ackermann at misti.ackermann@dads.state.tx.us or the Billing and Payment Unit at 512-438-5359.
  • DADS has corrected a “307 Warning: Incorrect RUG Value” error nursing facility providers may have received after successfully submitting MDS assessments for Medicaid reimbursement with an Assessment Reference Date on or after November 20, 2009. The error was caused by an incorrect CMI value for RUG PD2. An excerpt:

“The issue has been corrected in the state MDS database. You will need to complete a correction request form to modify any MDS assessments with an ARD on or after November 20, 2009 that received the -307 warning and resubmit those assessments to the MDS system.

“Use AT3e (Other Error) as the reason for the modification and specify “To fix RUG Value.” There is no reason to actually modify any item on the MDS (unless an error is found) to correct the RUG value calculated at the State MDS Database. Do NOT inactivate and resend MDS assessments that have received the -307 warning issue because that will reset your submission date and possibly cause the assessment to become a missed assessment requiring a purpose code E, whereas a modification will not.”

For more information, see the news alert section for this entry.

  • DADS has made available a Spanish translation of Information Letter 09-165 attachment (HCS Case Management Transition Initiative) now available. See page five of the letter for the Spanish version.
